East Texas wildflowers inspire postcard bouquet display
Avinger resident Mrs Bill Bishop arranged 25 East Texas wildflowers for a display at the Avinger Hospitality Center during the 1972 Wildflower Trails of Texas event in May. The Trails produced a postcard featuring 22 named varieties and three unidentified blooms alongside notes on hummingbird feeding and local garden life.

ESEA I funds approved for Gladewater 1972 73 program

The Sharon Shrine Circus comes to Round-Up Rodeo Arena on September 12 with two daily shows at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. The Barrada family leads the act with Captain Jose Barrada of Peru a noted lion trainer and his sons performing alongside Anna Maria and Chino in bear and tight rope routines. Tickets are sold through Sharon Temple Shrine members.
