Wellborns Celebrate 50th Wedding Anniversary in Dallas
Judge and Mrs. Charles F. Wellborn marked their golden anniversary with a weekend of events August 11 to 13 at the Holiday Inn in Dallas. The celebration included a rehearsal dinner, a banquet hosted by their children, recordings by grandchildren, and a Sunday buffet, culminating in a marquee tribute and family gatherings. The couple married in 1922 in Center Texas and later settled in Gladewater, where Wellborn served in education and law, now practicing at 201 N. Main St.

Tasty Southwestern Spareribs Recipe
Cut spareribs into serving sized pieces and broil until done. Prepare a sauce with catsup water onion brown sugar lemon juice chili powder salt and garlic powder then simmer 5 to 10 minutes. Brush ribs with sauce in the final 15 to 20 minutes and during cooking. Serves 4 to 6.
