L. A. Pruitt 59, brother of Mrs. Ruby Lee Horn, died in a Dallas hospital from burn injuries suffered in an mid July industrial accident near Neches. He lived in Hawkins 40 years, worked for Exxon, and belonged to Humble Federation. Survived by wife Vivian and eight grandchildren. Funeral Thursday 2 p.m. at English Funeral Home Mineola with Rev. Seth Johnston officiating.

Funeral services for Shirley Jean Lott aged 15 were held Sunday at 2 30 p.m. at Watersbluff CME Church with Rev Linzy Bowe officiating. Burial followed in Watersbluff Cemetery. She died Thursday in a Tyler hospital after a sudden illness. She was active in the church choir and attended Watersbluff Elementary and Gladewater public schools. Survived by parents Otis and Winona Lott, a brother Leonard Wayne Lott, sisters Linda and Brenda Lott, and grandparents Joe and (Mrs.) Childs. Pallbearers were Nathaniel Bynum Jr J G Bircher and cousins. honorary pallbearers were Watersbluff Church stewards.

J. A. Jake Brown 52 a former Gladewater resident died of a heart attack in Dallas Saturday. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Ben Brown Funeral Home Irving with Rev. Don Daniel officiating. Burial followed at Crown Hill Cemetery Dallas. He is survived by son Stephen J. Brown US Navy, daughter Jana Hensley, father J. W. Brown Pittsburg, brother J. W. Brown Jr Oklahoma, sisters Mrs. J. E. Jordan and Mrs. Euel Smith Irving, grandson Chris Hensley, granddaughter Amy Brown Lubbock, and other nieces and nephews.
