Lloyd E. Burnett, fireman USN, son of Mrs. Nina E. Burnett of Char don Ohio, sailed aboard the submarine USS Hammerhead for a Tacoma demonstration cruise in Puget Sound with about 30 civic guests. Earl E. Mansfield, seaman USN, from Chesterland Ohio, serves on the aircraft carrier USS Essex in the Far East, a ship noted as the Fightin est Ship in the Fleet and active since recommissioning January 15 1951.

Dr Basquin Funeral Set for Friday
Dr. Fred S. Basquin 79 died at home on North Street Chardon Tuesday evening after a day in Cleveland. Funeral services will be Friday at 2 PM at Burr funeral home with burial in Chardon Cemetery. He practiced in Hartsgrove and Chardon, trained at Cleveland Homeopathic Medical College, and retired 1949. He leaves daughter Lucille Osborn, four grandchildren, and wives Martha Kuenster and Leona Webster.

Two Year Old Boy Bruised by Auto in Chardon

Huntsburg Man Hurt in Accident Near Claridon
A Sunday morning automobile crash on 322 near Claridon sent Geauga County resident Joseph Wentland to Huron Road Hospital with a fractured right arm a fractured left hip lacerations and possible internal injuries. He is listed in fair condition. Carl Edward Hickman from Ashtabula is in good condition with facial and neck lacerations. Hickman drove a 1935 Pontiac whose left front wheel locked causing his car to swing into Wentland’s 1940 Plymouth.

Judge Charles S Lenhart 83 of 114 Ferris Ave Chardon died of pneumonia Sunday in a Cleveland hospital. He served on the Chardon School Board and led the Sunday school at the local Methodist church.
