The Ladies Aid plans a noon pot-luck dinner on Election Day with meat provided by the group and an afternoon business meeting. Mrs. Bessie Granger, severely burned, remains in Wells Clinic Claridon and appreciates visitors and cards. Suit Against Sheriff Dismissed Over Car Seizure

Judge William K. Thomas dismissed negligence charges against Geauga Sheriff John Phelps in a case over a seized automobile sold for debt. The plaintiff Emanuel McGregor argued the sheriff should have required a bond before returning the car, but the judge said bond posting was at the sheriff's discretion and not proven.

Crescendo Club Meets November Fifth Evening

The Crescendo Club will meet Wednesday in the Auditorium at 8 00. The band and Glee Club will perform and display the new Risers. Parents are urged to attend to enjoy the program and hear about the Carnival planned for November twenty second.

JudgeREFUSES Garbage Disposal Injunction in Burton Township

Judge William K. Thomas rules the sanitary fill operated by John B. Holmes in Burton Township is not a nuisance and denies the injunction. The opinion cites county health officials that odors reach only a few hundred feet and that garbage is buried daily and covered. The ruling restricts burial to a six acre center area and requires end of day covering.

Honor Geauga 4 H Members Celebrated At Geauga Theatre

Geauga 4 H members gathered at the Geauga Theatre in Chardon to honor clubs and individuals for past year achievements. Delegates to the 4 H club congress in Columbus pose for photos, while square dancing teams earned state recognition after county and district wins. A farewell gift of 125 dollars was given to home demonstration agent Imogene Dean as gold cup trophies were awarded to top boys and girls clubs among Chardon Burton Parkman Newbury and Hampden members.

Pilgrim's Bazaar Set for November Sixth

All women groups from Pilgrim Christian church unite for an annual Bazaar on Thursday November 6 from 1 to 9 p.m. Various booths include Fish Pond led by Rose Ross back Baked Goods by Edla Thayer apron displays by Dorothy Brothers Fancy-work by Gwen Hanna and candy by Jean Schroep pel. A smoked ham dinner served family style at 5 30 p.m. by Mrs Lenna Murray and assistants.

Eva Mae Hoffman Funeral Friday

Eva Mae Hoffman died at her Middlefield Claridon home Tuesday from pneumonia and heart complications. Born March 28 1889 in Windsor Ohio she lived in Windsor Mesopotamia and nearby areas. She is survived by Frederick husband a daughter Della Hatch a son George W and five grandchildren. Funeral services at Laraway funeral home Middlefield Friday at 3 pm with burial in Middlefield Cemetery. Rev Albert Wolstencroft will officiate.

Richard Finds Way Out of Bathroom

Richard Jimmy Agema 3-year-old son of Mr and Mrs Dick Agema locked in a bathroom Sunday morning about 10 o'clock and could not open the lock. After his mother sought help a neighbor knocked and Richard emerged from the bathroom window having jumped about 12 feet. Dr Reed treated a forehead bruise and found no other injuries.

Former Chester Man Died in Florida

Chancy Fisher Jones died in Miami Florida where he had lived thirty years. He worked twenty five years as a tele graph operator in Willoughby and later managed Chesterland Caves before retirement. He is survived by his wife Irma Eddy Jones of Miami a son Albert of Columbus a daughter Helen Foster four grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. The body will be brought to Davis Funeral Home in Willoughby for services Friday Oct 31 at 2 PM.

Geauga County Home Demonstration Council to Host Legal Affairs Meetings

The Home Demonstration Council of Geauga County sponsors county wide sessions on legal services. Licensed attorneys will lead each township meeting with hostesses from the council.
