Hit Ship Driver Pleads Guilty to Leave Scene
Carl F. Bauer aged 53 of Burton RFD 2 paid a $50 fine and costs after pleading before Acting Magistrate Howard Oplinger of Chardon for leaving the scene of an accident. He was rearrested by sheriff officers on an assault and battery charge and later released on bail furnished by Gerald Werisch. Bauer had driven north on South Street Saturday afternoon and struck Arthur Fiittinger’s car at 111 Park Street, Chardon.

Woman Held After Infant's Death In River Near Parkman
Annie Nelson, 39, is held in county jail as police investigate the death of her newborn infant whose body was found floating in a Grand River branch north of Parkman Monday morning. The infant's body is in Cleveland for autopsy.
