Scarcity expected for canned tomatoes this season as last year’s pack is exhausted and this year’s supply must come from this year’s pack. Tomato packing began in late June due to low stock. prices quoted at 5 cents a dozen for spot and 21 and a half cents for later months. Pineapple packing ran June to July with about 75 percent of season's pack sold. A New York paper reports on Four Hundred receipts showing various historic items sold by Stuyvesant and others.
