State to Open Bids for Route 96 Soil Explorations
Governor Rockefeller announced that the State Department of Transportation will open bids on Thursday March 6 for soil explorations as part of the Route 96 reconstruction project from Ithaca to Trumansburg in Tompkins County. The contract is estimated at 67 425 dollars funded by the 1967 Transportation Bond Issue. About 155 soil borings will be taken along the corridor east of the current Route 96.
