Manning Lilla Post Plans 50th Anniversary Dinner Dance

On March 15 at 7 00 p m Manning Lilla Post 463 American Legion hosts a dinner dance commemorating the Legion's 50th anniversary. Tickets at the Post home or from officers are $2 00 each with limited accommodations. The event honors World War I veterans for forming the Legion in 1919.

Stewart Carpenter Renominated In Lodi Village Caucus

The Citizens party of Lodi renominated incumbent Mayor Carl Stewart and Trustee Fayette Carpenter at their February 18 caucus at the Fire Hall. Both seek two year terms in the village election on March 18.

Romulus Fiscal Affairs Examined by State Comptroller

DAR Observes American History Month with Education Efforts

February marked American History Month as the Daughters of the American Revolution highlighted Washingtons Farewell Address. The DAR has established Tamassee DAR School in South Carolina in 1913 and Kate Duncan Smith DAR School in Alabama in 1924, enrolling over 1200 children across two campuses and supporting five additional schools. Sibyl Ludington of New York is noted for a teen night ride aiding colonial troops.

Interlaken Cayuga Street project among 28 highway canal and rail works for which bids will be opened Thursday March 27. J Burch McMoran Transportation Commissioner says the $611000 reconstruction of County Roads 148 and 141B in Covert Town includes a two lane asphalt pave ment with 10 foot shoulders from Route 96 Interlaken to Route 89 widening Route 89 near the intersection. After a well attended Open House at the Ovid School a group of PTO members met and voted in the new by laws read by Donald Lueder. Robert Shaw made the motion to accept them and Mrs Walter Algus seconded. Membership dues are set at 1. It was suggested to spend on picture frames to display student work in halls.

Cooper to chair Red Cross drive in Interlaken area

Stuart Cooper was named chairman of the March Red Cross fund drive for the Interlaken Community Chest Area in Seneca County. The campaign seeks an $800 goal as workers begin calling on Sunday March 16 to gain support for military assistance, blood coverage, and other services.
