The Lodi Town Planning Board on November 16 expressed full support for forming Lodi Water District Number One. They reviewed district maps and the outline of costs and urged public approval, noting benefits for fire protection and future growth.
villagers crowded a meeting backing the sale of the Old Fire Station for 22500 to Trumansburg Home Telephone Co with a unanimous board vote likely. an unofficial poll showed broad support with residents citing low five year office space costs and tax base gains while some urged feasibility study and alternate uses. the money would be kept in the bank earning interest until needed for village offices.
Cathy Ferrand daughter of Mr and Mrs Ray Ferrand of Interlaken has been chosen to perform with the All-American Youth Band this summer. The group directed by Dr Clifford Williams will tour Athens Greece from June 2 through 30.
TRUMANSBURG The Centen nial Committee calls a general membership meeting on Tuesday December 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the Presbyterian Chapel. The session will approve a celebration program a committees list and committee chairmen before planning the August three day event. Co Chairmen Lawrence Hymes and Francis Schaefer Jr. invite all interested residents.
The Ulysses Narcotics Guidance Council met for 2 1/2 hours to chart directions for drug abuse control in Trumansburg. Richard Murdock aided the effort as Tompkins County Drug Coordinator. A public questionnaire will be drafted by Robert Herrick Edward Lutz Ed Husted Dr Gutelius and Arthur Golder and shown at a January 3 meeting to decide distribution.
