Llano moves to first after beating Comfort 2 0 as Kerrville tops Mason 1 0 and Boerne defeats Fredericksburg 5 3. Next Sunday games include Fredericksburg at Comfort Mason at Kerrville Boerne at Llano.
The Giants score all five runs in the fifth inning as R. Leidl and Klaerner pace the rally aided by Durst Knopp and E Henke. Dugosh earns the win while Klaerner takes the loss after a lengthy mound battle and a rosin pocket inspection by umpire Lochte.
Testimony shows Boerne pitcher used tosin in violation of league rules and the batter's box not marked. Umpire Nickels ignored objections as Fredericksburg protested. The case suggests the league may crash if violations continue. Hugo Klein’s new South Heights home nearing completion. Rosenbusch family from Floresville visited Fredericksburg over the weekend.
At a special meeting called by Bob Bennett president of the Hill Country League the Fredericksburg Giants protest against the Boerne White Sox was heard. All clubs except Mason were represented and after deliberation the protest was disallowed. Directors issued a reprimand urging strict adherence to existing rules in the future. The hearing continued amid tension over alleged violations.
Members of the San Antonio and Austin Skeet Clubs visited the Winchester Skeet Club last Sunday for a barbecue and a series of shooting contests at the local grounds. Scores from the events were recorded for each contest.
