The Fredericksburg Independent School District ordered a June 17 bond election in regular session on May 22. A $50,000 bond seeks funds for constructing and equipping new school rooms at the High School Building. Mr. Felix Maier lost the first finger of his right hand when an air compressor repair went wrong on Thursday evening. In a separate incident, two year old Nora Leyen Decker was injured by a mad cow on Tuesday evening but was reported to suffer no lasting injuries after a local physician treated her.
Gillespie County commissioners convened as Board of Equalization May 29 to inspect and adjust 1930 property renditions. Over four days, 12 properties saw reductions or holds. several petitioners were未 notified to reappear on June 25, and rolling stock for Fredericksburg and Northern Railway was accepted as assessed.
The local Chamber of Commerce Board schedules the annual membership meeting and banquet for Thursday evening June 19. Aiming to boost attendance, the secretary was told to emphasize welfare discussions for Fredericksburg and Gillespie County. An entertainment program will be arranged. Knoche, Sheriff Alfred Klaerner, Tax Assessor Louis Kordzik, Justice of the Peace Precinct No. 1 A. W Petmecky, and Commissioner Precinct No. 1 Adolf Gerhard. A second debate is planned for next Monday on the topic That Chain Stores are a Menace with both sides to be argued.
The Golden Jubilee celebration of the M. E. Church South opens tonight with Rev A E Rector of San Antonio delivering the initial sermon. Bishop Paul B Kern of San Antonio and Rev C A Lehmberg of Cameron will preach Sunday services and the closing sermon at 8 p m. The cordial invitation is extended to all. Also notes Mr and Mrs Max Joseph attended their uncle’s funeral at Giddings last Monday.
