Partial minutes show council discusses a parking meter referendum timing, street light outages, and sewer concerns. Officials authorize payments including a Reich Becker Agency bill and large service fees, with adjournment after routine motions.
The Forest Park village council met June 27 with routine items approved including permits for John P Cowley Jr and Sam Cawi for street work and a stress shop request denied. Bills approved totaling about 1 181 0 and adjournment noted after a dog bite incident on Marengo street.
Federal Judge Michael L. Igoe ordered the sale in court to the highest bidder of two vacant parcels owned by the Chicago Rapid Transit company. Bernard J. Fallen, trustee, petitioned for the sale. One parcel at Forest Park between Lathrop and Des Plaines measures 38 by 156 by 48 feet with a $1,100 bid. The other at River Forest near Madison Street and Park Avenue measures 671 by 664 by 181 by 92 feet with a $12,000 bid.
