Oxford Depot Hounds Enjoy Fox Chase
Feb 10 Vernon Butler spends time at home. Althea Mapes hosted friends Friday night. Ice storm in New Jersey halted Sunday school in Oxford. Helen McGuire, nursing in New York, visited family. Foxhounds chased a fox all day with no result. A red fox crossed from Lazy Hill toward Mary Crest in the morning. James Kerr now has his children boarding at Sam Phillips’s home. Harry Hyatt of Chester visited the store aiding his sick brother Edgar. Frank Mapes drew ice from George Brooks pond in Monroe to fill the Oxford ice house instead of Ralph Durland’s pond as last week’s news stated.
