Emile Bode Dies After Months of Illness in City
Emile Bode, aged 81 years and 24 days, died at his home on April 7 1908 after an illness of several months. Born March 14 1927 in Hannover Germany he moved to Wisconsin then Nebraska before settling in this city about twenty eight years ago where he ran a general merchandise business at the Bode corner. Survived by wife Wilhelmina who died four years ago, four children Hattie Albert Ernest and Ervin with two sons dead. Funeral Thursday from the German Lutheran home church with Deutsche Gessellschaft and Arion quartet aiding in services. Interment in Steel's cemetery.

Young Man Struck By Train Near Fargo
Willie Zimmerman, son of Albert Zimmerman near Fargo, was returning from Preston when he tried to cross the track ahead of an approaching train. The wagon was struck, demolished, and he was thrown clear, suffering non life threatening injuries. He believes he escaped serious harm only by luck.

Death jumps man on freight train at Falls City depot
A 18 year old from Rule died when he was struck while boarding a westbound freight at the Burlington depot in Falls City Nebraska. The incident occurred as Bert White and Roy McVey rode freight trips from Rule to the city. White was killed instantly and McVey found the body after returning to the scene. An inquest returned a verdict of accidental death self inflicted by White with no blame on the train crew. The youth’s father was notified and transported the body to Rule.
