A farmer John Casson west of the city fed forty two cattle for just over five months and sold them at one hundred dollars each. Gus Duerfeldt bought twenty four head about the same time, fed less, and sold them on Monday for six dollars and twenty five cents per hundred at the Kansas City market.

Hotel Porters Fight Ends With Sentence And Fine
Porters from the Union and National hotels fought last Thursday evening forcing them to appear before Judge Pallstead. During the melee a man known as Doc from the National clashed with Pat of the Union, receiving a thirty day jail term. The sentence was later commuted to a cash fine paid by his employer, and operations resumed without further incident.
