Race Ends In Tie Between Gandauer And Teemer
A stormy three mile sidewheel race in St Louis yesterday between Jake Gandauer and John Teemer ended in a tie after both boats crossed the line together. Gandauer led early with a five second start and both men rowed at about thirty five strokes per minute. Teemer closed the gap and passed briefly, but Gandauer surged and the finish was simultaneous with times of 20:00 and 20:03. A rematch is planned for next Sunday.
