METHODIST CENTENNIAL OPENS IN MOUNT VERNON CHURCH
The first session of the Methodist Centennial Conference opened at Mt. Vernon Church with delegates filling all seats. Bishop Cranberry presided, Dr. Cummins read scripture, and Rev. James G a rdiner led afternoon prayers as papers on church history were read and missions discussed by Rev. I A Young and Rev. Th A Musyal. The Bible used belonged to John Wooley.

Ocean collision sinks schooner in Long Island Sound
In thick fog on December 6 the schooner Mary E. Crosby from Port Johnson to Nantucket collided with the Mary Standish and sank within thirty minutes. Captain Brooks and the crew were rescued on the Standish with only personal effects and the boats saved. A libel suit was dismissed in Fort Wayne.
