Highmore Notes On Local People And Events

Highmore residents report surgeries and new births. Louise Perkins had nose surgery in Pierre then stayed at the D. C. Lewis home for a few days. Raymond Haletin and wife welcomed a son at the Highmore maternity home. Visits included Ed Burlingham and Kenneth Dawse of Oelwein Iowa, plus Dr. and Mrs. Jordan and daughters Miriam and Betty Lou at Vermillion for Dakota Day activities. Rosa B. Wright and Clarence Denham plus M. L. Murphy from Sapulpa Oklahoma were in Highmore on business.

Danforth Altar society met on Wednesday with articles gathered for the Ft. Thompson bazaar. Archie Geiver hauled coal from St. Lawrence. George Parsons of New York, a former resident, visited Winsell family and is reported in poor health. Ed South, a World War veteran, sought treatment at a Kansas City hospital. E Leyson of Miller checked on state owned land. M Lamb and Anna May Winsell return from Michigan. Miss Winsell bought a filling station in Huron, Leslie Winsell managing during absence. Howard Morrison returns from Coleridge Neb. John Permely and John Walz of Harrington Neb. visit on business. Birthday festivities for Mrs. Ollie Lawellen involve multiple local families.
