Test Corn Type Trials Active in 21 South Dakota Counties
Brookings May 25. County extension services in 21 South Dakota counties run tests to identify the most profitable corn variety for local conditions. The effort continues the extension service corn-improvement program supported by farmers bankers and business groups. Fifteen counties tested varieties last year and ten acre economic tests will be tried in about a dozen counties this year. Tests involve from one to seventeen varieties per county with a total of two dollar test plots spread across the 21 counties.
