Mayor of Hamtramck Indicted In Major Bribe Conspiracy

The Mayor of the Detroit suburb Hamtramck Rudolph G Ten erowicz and 14 others including several public officials were named in 18 indictments by a circuit court grand jury. Seven indictments accuse conspiracies to accept bribes in disorderly houses city dump contracts and public works contracts. Sheriff E P Hanson of Hancock County reports a man found gagged and bound on a road five miles north of Garner may be John Smith, a Perry resident. The man, who spoke of Davenport and Cedar Rapids, claimed five days of captivity in a basement before the encounter.

Baptist Boys Camp Opens In Black Hills

About 3 boys enrolled at noon as the Baptist boys camp at Camp Judson in the Black Hills opened for a week. Rev. The West Park Development association was placing about a dozen four by eight signboards around Huron to guide residents and visitors with city information and routes. Officials also noted improvements at the nearby tourist camp.

86-Year-Old Mother Of A Frost Is Dead

Andrew Frost, a construction foreman in the bridge and building department of the Chicago and North Western railway, received a cablegram today announcing the death of his 86 year old mother in Mora Sweden. He last saw her two years ago when visiting his old home. Her health declined in recent months.

Hopper Outbreak Worries Farmers Near Henry

Hurried efforts to check a grasshopper outbreak are under way in flax and alfalfa fields north of Henry. Poisoned bran mash is being applied at A. E. Hubbard’s farm as county agent L. D. Nichols directs the campaign. A tan of coal yields almost 10 000 cubic feet of gas.
