The trial of Edward L. Bat Flaherty in Sioux City opened this afternoon with late jurors. Eyestone widow Mrs Charles Eyestone testified about the night of the poker party slaying in Huron on February 15. Harry Sanders heard the fatal shot after Eyestone answered a door knock. Joe Brown identified Flaherty in court as the man who entered and held up the poker game. Judge Taylor summoned extra veniremen but the jury was formed by 11:30 am.
