PIERRE June 3 Governor Green today refused to grant clemency recommended by the pardon board for Ronald Flathers Iroquois convicted of murder in 1927. He also denied a pardon for Nora De Zotell Sioux Falls woman serving 30 year term for killing her husband. Flathers action followed community protests and Green cited cold blooded crime, lack of remorse, and societal interests. De Zotell’s case deemed not warranting a pardon.

Her physician said her condition improved enough for release. Another weekend accident left Mrs H J Ward still recovering at home after a near Pisere Sunday crash. Donald Walker, her nephew, has fully recovered from the incident. Olive Hansen, injured in the city Saturday night, remains unable to work at Model Sisam laundry, while Matilda L Brondheim, in the same accident, has returned to work. A third woman, Mrs Gus Gades, could not be reached. injuries kept her from work yesterday.
