Corn shows rapid growth and generally excellent condition, with good cultivation despite some rainfall shortages in areas. Weather was very warm with showers across eastern regions. conditions for farm work were mostly favorable though interruptions occurred. Potatoes and rye show mixed results while flax remains poor and grasses improve with moisture. Grasshoppers cause additional damage in south-central areas. Judge R C Bakewell sentenced two youths Richard K Bonser 18 Deadwood and Morris A Palm 17 Watertown to prison terms after they were found guilty of stealing a car from Leon Orr a Wessington Springs farmer. Bonser received five years at the state penitentiary in Sioux Falls while Palm was sent back to the Plankinton training school. County officers escorted the prisoners to the institutions.

LIQUO FALLS June 4. Improvement in the condition of Frank Lovelace driver of the bus for the Stock Yards baseball team and John Smith gon pitcher for the team was reported at St. John's hospital Springfield Minn where they are confined with injuries from an automobile crash Tuesday. Hospital attendants said Lovelace was practically out of danger. Other team members suffered minor injuries and were able to return to Sioux.

Akron woman pilot trainee dies in crash
Miss Mildred Stinaff twenty year old Akron resident and former women's world record holder for loop flying died when her transport training plane crashed during an exhibition over Akron.
