The ninth annual state encampment of Spanish War Veterans will be held in Sioux Falls June 24 to 26 with camps from across South Dakota expected to attend. The three day program includes addresses by state and national officers, sessions, memorial service, officer nominations, and a banquet and dance. The event also features reports, elections, and installation of officers with local officials delivering welcomes. Funeral services for Frank Pettyjohn age 60 a former Vermillion grain dealer will be held today in Pierre with burial to follow. Pettyjohn last resided in Pierre after returning from work with a railroad line. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law and two grandchildren.
