Water Carnival To Be Held At Miller Pool

Hand County Red Cross sponsored two week swimming and life saving course concludes with a water carnival at the municipal pool on Friday evening. Over 200 persons enrolled across ages under direction of Mrs. E T Trosin lifeguards Kenneth Hammill Gilbert Thomas and life saver Wilfred Osterhaus. The show features swimming races life saving demonstrations and light clowning. program starts at 6 45 p m.

Highmore sees a flow of vacation visitors including Miss Dorothy Gallagher from Denver studying nursing, Miss Virginia Shilling from West Unity Ohio, Miss Lorraine Lake from Huron, and the Orville Kiel family from Cottonwood visiting local hosts. James Martin and Ward Tucker of Boise Idaho visited the former Cavour resident E F P Martin and his family, traveling from New York and San Francisco fairs. The Boise teachers planned to visit Philip and Yellowstone Park on their return home.

They attended the University of Vermillion commencement where Leta James earned her M A degree. Henry Puterbaugh of Cavour recovers from a fractured shoulder after a fall from a horse in pasture. Mr and Mrs Arthur Madsen and daughters plus Frances and Marilyn Madsen attended a dealers meeting and banquet at Watertown, with Lois Decker joining as guest.
