Washington July 13 The President named the first six assistants in the reorganization program. Lauchlin Currie economist at the Federal Reserve Board William H McReynolds administrative assistant to the secretary of the treasury James H Bowe Jr assistant to Brig Gen Edwin M Watson White House secretariat. Three more assistants will be named later. The duties remain to be disclosed but likely relieve the President from routine liaison work with agencies.

Heat Victim Named In Mitchell Heat Wave

An early July heat wave pushed South Dakota temperatures above 100 and claimed Albert Worthen of Mitchell as the season's first heat victim. Readings reached 106 in places. Huron cooled from 103 to 95 as rain or cooler forecasts offered hope for relief. Worthen died at his Mitchell home after being overcome while working on a WPA project in Hanson County. He is survived by his mother and several siblings in multiple states.
