Alcester Bank Robbery Ends in Major Loot
Alcester, Jan 28. A lone bandit held up the State Bank of Alcester at 4 p.m. yesterday, taking $500 in cash from L. S. Eaton and forcing four bank staff to the vault. The robber fled toward Chatsworth, pursued by a posse but escaped. A $1,000 reward was announced by the South Dakota Bankers association. Authorities described the assailant as about 30 to 33 years old, 160 to 163 pounds, with dark hair and complexion, neatly dressed in a blue suit and overcoat. The loot included torn and mutilated currency. Continuous lookout urged for possible wound.

Funeral services for FE A Platts who died yesterday at a Huron hospital after a week long illness from double pneumonia will be held tomorrow at 2 30 PM at the Kinyon chapel with Rev A S Carlson officiating. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery. Huron Elks lodge members are asked to meet at the club room at 2 PM to attend in a body. Bir Platte wan 2 member will have charge of the services. Mr Platts was in the farm wagon business here and came to Huron from town about nine years ago.
