State To Feed Montana Cattle
Montana officials announce a plan to connect cattle and sheep owners with prospective buyers and feeders from South Dakota. State and county agents will survey surplus feed and match buyers, with terms set by the involved parties. Montana will protect buyers and ensure interstate health requirements are met while avoiding cross-border feeding moves that could hurt local stock.

Red Cross Receives 80 Acres of Clay County Land
Vermillion May 29 The American National Red Cross society will receive acres of Clay county land as the result of Judge A B Beck's decision after years of dispute. The will of the late Theodore Engels of Wakanda left 89 acres to an old friend Michael Fisher with the residue to the Red Cross. Fisher could not inherit since he was a witness, prompting competing claims by the Wakonda Red Cross branch, the state of South Dakota, and the national society. The circuit court recently upheld the Wakonda branch ruling, directing the land to the local Red Cross chapter amid the national society appeal. The 1919 will date coincides with rising Red Cross public support.
