Death of Robert A Laird Recalls Long Miner Life in Eureka
Obituary recounts Robert A Laird aged about 60, a West Virginia native who worked in coal mines in Maryland and Eureka, later stock raising and mining in Green River and Prospect Mountain. He served as deputy sheriff, trustee of Eureka schools, and held Mason and Knights of Pythias memberships. He died after a chill and pneumonia, survived by his widow, four schoolchildren, a married son and daughter, a brother William, and a sister Mrs Mary R Brown. Funeral planned Sunday at the Pythias hall in Eureka under Masonic and Knights of Pythias auspices.

The Nevada Supreme Court dismissed Y Arrascada of Golconda's petition for a writ of habeas corpus and quashed a prohibition writ to block destruction of 191 cases of bonded whiskey seized last year for violating state prohibition law.
