Adams Hll Claims Taken Over by American-British Corp

The American-British Corporation through managing director F J Abbott purchased and paid for multiple Eureka mining district claims on Adams Hill. The deal includes Altouna Lowden Mohawk from Fraser Brothers and Alex Fraser Red Seal Caniral Consolidated Boomer Fulton and McCharlen with ore and chambers described as promising. past production totals cited and future development planned. Hugh Leonard and John McGee of Tonopah examined the claims and see potential for large ore chambers and substantial tonnage from numerous small ledges near the surface.

Memorial Day Observance Planned in Eureka

Memorial Day observances are urged with a parade to cemeteries led by the Rescue Hose Company. Residents are invited to place flowers and honor the departed, setting aside grievances for a respectful remembrance. Eureka Brokerage & Investment Co announces near completion of a Main street renovation and expects furniture and fire fixtures from San Francisco soon. Manager T Torpey has hired D States, a consulting engineer, to oversee mineral zone inspections with completion aimed by June 15 when a mining report arrives.

Miners and brokers depart for summer vacation

Thos. Robinson, a San Francisco broker with strong ties to the Bureka mines, and W. A. Barnes of the Bureka-Holly mine sail from San Francisco to Honolulu on May 19 for a summer layoff.

Rescue Hose Company to Erect Public Hall

Eureka committee for Fourth of July celebration on May 27 recommended building a 50 by 100 foot public hall on the southeast corner of Main and Silver streets. They urged immediate contracting for materials and erection to be ready for the holiday. Further financing plans will be published when finalized.

Pittman Clarifies Silver Purchase Under Pittman Act

Senator Pittman states ordinary silver bullion is accepted at Government mints and explains criteria for silver deposits and gold deposits. He says mints will pay at one dollar per ounce for silver content, regardless of purity, with minor separation charges by smelters. He warns against misinterpretations that could depress silver prices and vows the Pittman act will not be repealed.

Assessments on mining properties debated in House committee

Washington May 27 bills to suspend mining property assessments in the United States and Alaska were voted down by the house mining committee. The existing requirement for claimants to perform one hundred dollars of work per year on each project was suspended three years ago due to labor shortages. One Alaska proposal aimed at a one year tax suspension, another sought permanent lifting in both Alaska and the U S.

The Eureka-Croesus shipped five carloads of ore this week with smelter returns up to 2.67 ounces per ton about 53.40 in gold. Prospect Mountain Tunnel advances 2900 feet with electric ventilation. Ruby Hill expands unwatering and fuel deliveries. Eureka-Holly adds an office and water main plan. Uncle Sam Consolidated pushes two shifts. Planting 600 Acres by Red River Lumber Company Near Westwood

The Red River Lumber Company began planting 600 acres at the home ranch near Westwood. Seventy percent will be oats and sunflowers supplement dairy stock feed. Sunflowers and oats will be hauled to the new dairy barns under construction nearby.

Handley Family Reaches Home After Pasteur Treatment Advice

Walter Handley and family along with Mrs. Handley’s mother Mrs. William Potts returned from Eureka to San Francisco where they consulted a Pasteur expert. Doctors advised against Pasteur treatment for the adults due to no rabies cases from milk and recommended it only for the two young children.
