Mild Winter Predicted by Goose Bone Signs from New England
A New York dispatch reports a mild winter based on goose bone quality and seragaly rag weed indicators. Examination of 1000 goose breast bones from New England and the Central States shows light, inferior osseous material with few red spots. Corn husks, fur use, and regional farm notes reinforce the outlook, contrasting with the harsh 1908 winter. Canada’s sent forecasts suggest a poor ice palace season.
