Forgery Suspect Caught After Jewelry Store Fraud

Oliver Walker, a Alabama resident, is jailed for forgery after buying a 7 watch with a bad 15 check signed by W B Andrews at J O Watts jewelry. He fled by train to Cottage Grove but was captured by Sheriff Fisk and brought back. The forger admitted the crime saying he was broke.

Literary society organized at local school in Saginaw

Special Correspondence from Saginaw reports the school principal initiating a literary society. Officers elected include W. K. Green as president and C. A. Smith as secretary, with Royden Powell as treasurer and Jas. Hart as sergeant at arms. Several residents, including Mrs powers and Mr Buford, are noted in recent travels and visits.

Circuit Court Docket Grows With 165 Cases In Session

The adjourned term of the circuit court opened this afternoon and will run through the week. The docket tops 165 cases, the heaviest in court history. Various actions were continued or dismissed, including suits by George W. Scott and H. A. Hammond as executors against Eva Ford, Booth-Kelly Lumber Co. vs J. W. Patrick, and many others involving money claims, foreclosures, quiet titles, and partial decrees.

Mrs Michael Weber Dies at Home in Donna

Mrs Michael Weber died at her Donna home Saturday night from pleural fever. She leaves two children aged two years and three weeks. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 10 o clock at the Catholic church in Eugene with interment in the Masonic cemetery.
