Sailors Mutiny at Portsmouth Navy Yard

Portsmouth November 5 A mutinous outbreak by about one hundred sailors forced immediate mobilization of the naval barracks. A sensor officer attempted to reprimand discipline and ordered kneeling front ranks. The enraged sailors tore the gym and canteen, sought the officer’s quarters, but bayonet fire halted them. several men arrested.
