A cloudburst last night swept Willow Creek valley near Heppner Oregon killing hundreds and washing away railroad tracks depots and grain warehouses. As of noon June 15 five hundred feared dead with one hundred five bodies recovered. a special train is sent to aid the area.

Pioneer Casper Rickard Dead. Oregon Pioneer Passes at 81
Casper Rickard an Oregon pioneer died Monday at 3 AM in Junction City aged 81. Born March 3, 1822 in North Carolina, he married K Kimes in 1845 and had four children Jasper Rickard Ann Tracer Amanda Calvert. Survived by a feeble wife, he joined the Masonic lodge and Methodist church. He came to Oregon in 1859 by ox team then settled on a Junction City farm.
