Great strike threatened by coast labor leaders
A quiet movement among prominent coast labor leaders aims to prompt Pacific States Telephone and Telegraph Company operators to strike in sympathy with hundreds of linemen who have quit. A successful action would cripple telephone service coastwide and disrupt business, especially where local exchanges are active. In Eugene, Miss Myra Brown denies knowledge of the movement but confirms rumors. Horace Westbrook has quit, while John Patterson stays to handle repairs locally.
