Professor Miles Stilliter and Gordon Barclay scheme a bold plan to install a female figure as national savior to calm unrest and boost wealth. Their scheme centers on manipulating public opinion and exploiting the Amesbury family tragedy to advance a controversial, profit driven gospel of efficiency.
Gordon Barclay and his inner circle, Bemimes and Sturtevant, sit in a richly appointed room while Professor Stilliter observes. Barclay outlines a speculative future driven by restless world forces, contrasting it with mere facts as he paints a dramatic scene of speculative power and capital achievements.
An Amesbury girl’s troubling childhood centers on three powerful men who view her as an object. A neglectful household follows, with Tommy Steele acting as a gentler caregiver as the girl recalls a dangerous moment when Professor Stilliter assaulted her, a grim episode that shadows her early memories.
A little Amesbury girl wakes to danger as Professor Stilliter abducts her with a rock crystal. Guided by masked men, she is paraded before three suitors and led toward a hidden cavern. A mysterious matriarch appears, promising a future world connection.
A man almost dropped a young girl as she screamed and struggled. Tommy Steele intervened, emerging from a shower of twigs and sustaining injuries while defending Professor Stikter, who was attacking the child and was struck repeatedly. The professor's glasses were knocked from his face and he lapsed into momentary blindness.
