A steel bridge across Spring creek two miles south of Saratoga collapsed last week for the second time since construction. The Petrie Moulton company held the contract for a 50‑foot steel span, sixteen feet wide with a concrete floor designed to carry 15,000 pounds. It is doubtful the contractors will rebuild under the old contract. A similar Cow creek bridge between here and Saratoga is of the same class but ten feet shorter.

The Union Pacific Coal Company's Hanna store was robbed Monday night of last week. Thirteen items stolen include seventeen meer abaum pipes, five diamond rings, ten two dollar gold pieces, eight five dollar gold pieces and one ten dollar gold piece, all Indian head coins. Authorities believe rural boys may be the culprits and have been alerted.
A veteran of the Encampment valley told the Record man this week that if the local creamery is reopened he will milk twenty five cows every day and supply the cream locally.

Abbott found unsurveyed land and a lack of timber titles. ties were seized for the government. A top assay from Grand Encampment gold ores yielded $11,678 per ton from a Park Mining company specimen near Spring Creek, surprising owners who anticipated far less value.
Encampment chapter No. 17 O B S elected officers for the coming year at the Tuesday night meeting. P B Arendetl will depart this week to Bagge where he will remain through the winter. His daughter Milesary will stay in Encampment for the winter.
The 8. & EB. railway announces a large free dance at the new Saratoga depot tomorrow night, Friday December 17. A special free train from Encampment will depart about 7 o'clock and return later the same night. Ladies are urged to bring lunches for a midnight spread. all events are free.

It invites public input and owner details on purchase or lease of the Encampment plant, stressing the project’s promising start if well managed.
Carbon county sheepmen who litigated with Routt county Colorado over full taxes on sheep that ranged in Wyoming have reached an agreement. Routt county will return about 8000 dollars in taxes and thereafter they will pay one third of their taxes to Routt county and the remainder to Carbon county.
The Girls' Friendly Society held a Christmas bazaar last Saturday in the reading room. The ladies' guild of St. James' church hosted theirs on Tuesday in the reading room. Both societies report successful sales.
The Wilcox family announces the birth of a baby boy to Mr. and Mrs. Amos Wilcox on December 2. Delayed report due to Amos’s absence from town. records learned of the arrival yesterday.
Reverend Haupt invites all interested in the reading room to stay after Friday evening services to discuss funding.
