Thieves took an exceedingly valuable span of horses, second premium at the county fair, along with a survey, from Edward Fowls' barn west of town on Thursday night. The barn was left unlocked. a stranger recently left cloth bags in the barn, possibly connected by use to muffle hoof and bogey sounds. The theft was noticed Friday morning, capture seem unlikely. Also reported is news of Mr. P. Boynton undergoing appendectomy at Lorain Hospital, operation by Dr. Wheatley with Drs. Robinson and Garver assisting. recovery expected soon and the removed appendix reportedly largest ever.
Burglars entered Percy Barber's residence at noon while the family was away and stole an indefinite amount of money. John Dise, 18, identified by neighbors, fled after being chased near Penfield Junction. Deputy Saintsbury joined the search, Dise evaded authorities, and a pocket book with $17 was found, likely from another theft.
