H P Boynton associate editor of the Republican underwent an appendectomy at Lorain Hospital on Tugaday morning. Dr Wheatley led the operation with Drs Robinson Garver and Garver assisting. Robbers entered Percy Barber's North Amherst residence at noon while the family was away and took an undetermined amount of money. One suspect, John Dise, fled toward Penfield Junction but was chased for two hours through woods before escaping. Deputy Salisbury joined the search but Dise eluded capture, and memorabilia suggests the loot may be from another robbery. A pocketbook found with $17 did not come from the Barber home.
