Judge Haydon heard testimony Monday in Blyr on discharging the injunction preventing sale of the fair grounds. Witnesses cited building and track values from 3,000 to 10,000 with grounds estimates from 25,000 to 75,000, while sentiment favored preserving the site for the agricultural society despite varying appraisals.
Lorain Ohio city council grants a franchise to the Ohio Telegraph Co to operate telephone service citywide. The vote ends a yearlong struggle after a previous veto blocked the effort. George Colwell of Wellington was driving to Higvin Monday morning when he fell from his wagon and broke his right arm. He was treated by a local physician and returned home. A farmer nearby owed his life to his two dogs whose faithful actions pulled him from the tracks after he lay unconscious on the railroad. When found, one dog pressed his face to him while the other lay across his legs as help arrived.

Harry D Sheldon plans to discuss his Canadian forest trip next meeting, as the group previews a paper on “The Law of the Isle.”
Daniel G. Donalase recently appointed guard at the penitentiary, while on leave at his Sandusky home, assaulted F A Schumater after being threatened with rotten eggs. Edward Pollock, a farmer near here, was injured Tuesday morning when a cogwheel on a threshing machine struck him, flinging him to the ground and cutting his head on an iron cultivator. He was helped to his house and treated. doctors expect recovery in a few days.
A pest house near the city center on the East side was robbed in a night raid. Thieves took bedding, chairs and even the door plaque reading Pest House, leaving the institution bare. Police cite two clues one of which suggests the thief cannot read English or has had smallpox, and note the place has not housed a contagious patient for about a year.
Report says Logan Natural Gas and Fuel Company serving Elyria will pass under Standard Oil control. Standard already owns Northwestern Ohio Natural Gas and Northeastern Ohio Natural Gas, tied to same gas fields and main line from West Virginia. Telegraphs requested via Postal Telegraph.
