Frank McNatty, a 69 year old sailor veteran, slashed his throat with tin in a Oberlin town hall cell after being detained as a vagrant on the way from Cleveland to the Dayton soldiers and sailors home. He told officials he had no money or friends and might as well be dead. A physician dressed his wounds and local G A K members arranged care at Elyria hospital.
