Wreck on Big Four Raiload Near Berea Claims Several Lives
A late evening collision on the Big Four Railroad near Berea between passenger train No. 23 from Cleveland and freight train No. 34 eastbound caused multiple fatalities and extensive property damage. Cars piled thirty feet high, fire broke out, and three presumed burn victims were mail clerks believed trapped in a burning car amid wreckage. Passengers suffered serious injuries but most are expected to survive.
