Elyria Group Attends St Louis Exposition Trips
Elyria members of the uniform rank and local delegates traveled to the St Louis exposition aboard Nickel Plate on Sunday. The Cleveland delegation and about thirty from the county joined, with notable numbers from Lake Shore shop workers and the Elyria Knights of Columbus among the 200 strong crowd. A Toledo group of 390 also attended along with Cedar Point and Sanctuaky outings noted.

Stick Thrust Through Girl Tongue In Oberlin Incident
Frances Tillotson, five, daughter of A Z Tillotson, was severely injured when she slipped and fell onto a sharp stick while playing with other children near trees in Oberlin Ohio. The stick pierced her tongue and roof of mouth, leaving her in critical condition with facial swelling and inability to talk or eat. Blood poisoning is feared.

The annual Denham Dalgleish reunion gathered 94 relatives at Penfield Center the Wednesday of August 17. Dr J D Bemis of Fremont, brother of CG A Bemis and former pupil at the Xenia Soldiers and Sailors Orphans Home, is named to fill the vacancy on the home's board created by Gen J Warren Keifer’s resignation. Teachers Institute Sees Attendance Rise Second Day
Attendance Tuesday morning reached 271, with 29 percent ladies and 34 men. Despite better turnout than a year ago, many teachers expected to attend are missing. The county’s upcoming teacher count will leave about 54 not attending, and about 100 more join in not teaching.
