Oberlin August 20 Miss Elna Smith daughter of Wilson G. Smith Cleveland musician is badly bitten by a bulldog at the Hilste Arandt on Glenmore Boulevard Hydebrand home. The dog pounced during a confinement period and clung to her arm requiring three hands to free its jaws. The animal was shot and Dr. Hine treated the wounds. Hydrophobia not suspected and recovery expected.

WARDEN EDWARD A HERSHEY DIES AT OHIO PENITENTIARY
Edward A. Hershey warden of the Ohio Penitentiary fell ill in a barber chair early Sunday and died four hours later from a ruptured stomach artery. His final act was to authorize the electric chair for Strangler Knapp, killer of five women, on a Friday morning.

Elyria Loses To Lorain Athletic At Oak Point
Elyria fell to the Lorain Athletic club at Oak Point on Sunday due to poor fielding by Elyria. Stoup set a strikeout record with 12 against Lang's five while Lang pitched well. Highlights included Clark catching a faulty ball., a double play by Koehle and Braman, and Koehle's sensational ground play. About two hundred Elyria supporters cheered wildly.

Strenuous Day for 7 Year Old Burglary Suspect
Seven year old Arthur Rainey was arrested after horse stealing and a string of petty thefts in Elyria. He admitted taking a Willian Penfound horse and sprang wagon, drove town for hours, then hid money from a lumber company robbery before more attempts at a dairy factory.
