One More Wreck Victim Identified After Kishman Siding Crash

Alberta Ganna, 40, of the tallans, died Saturday at 4 a.m. from double pneumonia caused by punctured lungs and severe chest injuries. Standard Oil Goes in Canada Purchases Kent Oil Acreage
In Lima on August 21 the Standard Oil Company announced its first Canadian field buys near Wheaton, acquiring 1500 acres from Kent Oil & Gas Company, which now has a small production. The venture will begin field work under United States Oil & Gas Company with directors J. D. Rockefeller, H. H. Rogers, J. D. Archibald, and J. Carter.

Not Drunk Only Sick Dolan Fined For intoxication
Thomas Dolan told Mayor Folger he was sick rather than drunk after a six week illness from a leg injury. He explained he fell asleep while resting in the city and woke in police custody. The mayor fined Dolan five dollars plus costs, and Dolan was held for jail with time to Decide payment. Dolan listed South Antherst as his home.

Wrecking Train Kills Hungarian Worker Near Ridgeville
An L. H. M. S. wrecking train struck an unknown Hungarian laborer east of Ridgeville while repairing near Sandusky. The man, found beside the tracks, had no ID and wore ordinary work clothes. Coroner French ruled accidental death and will aid identification efforts with fellow countrymen.

Lone Burglar Enters Walker Residence
A lone burglar entered Alvin Walker’s home on Water Street during the early hours Sunday and stole a ducket book containing four to five dollars. Mrs. Walker heard a disturbance and woke her husband, who pursued but could not catch the intruder. Police arrested three men later that night, with Hughie Lowery identified as a possible suspect. Lowery’s burglary charge was continued, but he was jailed for sleeping in the building after failing to pay fines. The other two, Sandy Cline and Richard Roth, pled guilty to sleeping in a building and were committed for nonpayment of fines.
