Ensign Funeral Sunday at 2 P. M

The funeral of C. C. Ensign will be held at two o'clock Sunday afternoon at his late summer residence in Ridgeville. The Rev W C Dawson of the Methodist church will conduct the services and the remains will be interred in Elyria cemetery. Elyria Ellis, of which Mr Ensign was Exalted Ruler, will turn out in a body.

Nickel Plate Freight Crew Discharged After Collision

Engineer M. Kirby and Conductor Thomas Tracey of the Nickel Plate freight were discharged after a wreck at Kishman’s siding. They were suspended immediately after the collision, but company investigation found enough evidence for discharge. Railroad officials refused to release findings, and Chief Clerk W. S. Bliss said further statements are unlikely.

An elderly woman, frail yet energetic, identified as Mrs Pheebe Kane Hatton age 71, arrived in Elyria from Wellington then Cleveland and stayed in the C and W waiting room overnight. She refused to reveal her origins or home and was aided by Mrs Searles after trustees could not locate a place for her. The probate note mentions Anna J. Millis's will with Mrs Moody named as chief beneficiary.

Pythian Outing at Camp Gen Minshull

Arrangements for the Ohio Brigade encampment of Uniform Rank Knights of Pythias are complete with tents over 1000 on Lake Shore Boulevard Cleveland. Hy Davis Elected Grand President of Eagles in Denver

In Denver on August 19 Ohio and Hy Davis of Cleveland won a decisive victory at the Eagles convention. Capt. John F. Pelletier of Kansas City conceded defeat after a late surge by Davis, who declared he would not seek re election. The convention adjourned without electing further officers as Pelletier surrendered. Former Congressman Theodore A. Bell nominated Pelletier with support from Senator Grady and others. Davis was nominated by Tom Coogan with strong backing from Davis supporters. Balloting showed Davis pulling ahead, Pelletier surrendering before the roll call finished.
