Lake Shore Electric sends engineers from Norwalk to survey a new electric route to Oberlin. The proposed line will pass Kipton Penfield Brighton and Collins and would connect with the Cleveland & Southwestern system, with surveys already in progress.

Pittsburg Aug 22 Following announcements of durable system upgrades by Baltimore and Ohio Management comes a Lorain Ohio report detailing 150000 in improvements. A new mechanical yard facility replaces burned shops, a round house and turntable will be built, yard capacity expanded, fire protection added, and bids invited from various cities with work to start immediately.
Richard Rollin, arrested with Hughie Lowery and Sandy Cline at the fair grounds on the building without consent charge, was fined and placed in Walter K. Brown’s care. Rohm agreed to work to pay the fine, with Brown expected to hire him Monday. The mayor deemed the Rosa offense not serious and let him go. Sandy Cline remains in the city.
A special city council meeting held Monday considered bids for the Washington Avenue improvement. The bid from Season Wood and Meyer of Cincinnati was accepted with a premium of $969.75. Representatives from Barber Asphalt Company were not present.
Lorain school board opened bids for firefighting escapes to school buildings. Firms listed include Cleveland Sheet and Structural Lives Co and Columbus Elevator and Iron Co with 15 escapes each and prices from 1,599 to 2,575 dollars. Other bids from Jworain Machine and Forge Co Harrie Safety Co and Ohio Structural Iron Co followed, with various escape counts and costs.
Lorain politicians discuss reducing the mayor’s pay to 800 dollars a year while shifting police duties to a police judge. Mayor King favors such a move but the state legislature must act first as the code offers no provision for new police judges in cities.
A would-be intruder sneaked into Commodore W. R. Huntington’s East Bridge Street residence while he and his family were away.
