City approves sidewalk builds and wiring ordinance
The council met Tuesday night ordering a sidewalk along Sugar Ridge road and East River street from Raat Bridge street to that road. A sidewalk on the south side of Seventh street from R O Baird’s residence to Middle avenue was approved. They referred W A Ely’s West side plat to the platting committee and passed an ordinance prohibiting dead wires on poles and streets. Paving ordinances for Middle avenue East court Fifth street and East River from East Ridge to Clarkateeta were approved.

Death of William Leavitt at 81 in city home

Natural gas assured despite mayor veto in council action
The council passed the natural gas ordinance over the mayor's veto on Tuesday night. Mr MacDowell of Pittsburg noted the Lorain line is within five miles of completion and gas will reach Lorain by the 15th and Elyria by the 1st of October. A twenty five cent rate applies until next May.
