Council Meeting Notes Tuesday Night Proceedings
The council met in regular session with President Smith. They addressed a Cheapside drainage issue, ordered repairs attributed to the Gay company, and granted 150 to support firemen at an Oberlin tournament. Damages from a water main were settled, Avondale plat discussed with oak sluices, and tax on the 6th street extension considered. Attendance criticized. calls for resignations if councilmen are frequently absent.

Sues for Divorce Over Cruelty and Neglect
Mrs. Lynn I. Squires files for divorce from G. A. Squires citing extreme cruelty gross neglect of duty and habitual drunkenness. They have five children ages eight to two. Defendant serves a sentence in the Cleveland workhouse for failure to provide for his family. Attorney A. E. Lawrence represents the plaintiff.

Washburn Named to Lorain County Republican Board Seat
Secretary of State Laylin announced the county election board appointments. G. Washburn, the Lorain County Republican pick nicknamed the dark horse, was chosen as the Republican member. Route of New York to St Louis touring party reaches Elyria safely
The Cleveland to Elyria leg of the New York to St Louis automotive touring party completed its run without incident. H. M. Adan led the Cleveland group from Clave lang at 4 pm Tuesday, with progress delayed by a misread signal along the route. Several cars followed, including those owned by John H. Lutrie of New York and J. Brown of Cleveland, while H. W. Whipple of Andover Massachusetts, notable for promoting the American Automobile Association, led a Mercedes with his wife and two others aboard. The party, numbering 31 cars from Cleveland, expects to reach St Louis within a week and includes prominent auto manufacturers and drivers from the East.

W. J. Sherman the citys general engineer presented a sanitary sewer plan showing two main trunk lines below the river and two on the east and west city sides with laterals. The 29.85 mile system is designed to be expandable and may include a disposal plant if river discharge is barred. Storm sewers will be kept separate and directed to the rivers. Council backed Sherman to complete the drawings.

Ira Glasser the Lorain electric motorman who left Lorain abruptly Saturday afternoon has not been heard from. His wife Mrs Glasser has packed the household goods and will stay with her sister in Lorain until she hears from him. A group led by W. R. Huntington rode seven miles to the George Ford place and returned in seventeen minutes. They admired a St. Louis Fair car they met on the road and praised Mr Huntington’s automobile as a fine vehicle.
